🇺🇸 Violet and the Undercurrents present: 'Still Here'

Hello Listeners,

The song 'Still Here', was inspired by a quote from the Greek poet, Dinos Christianopoulos:

🌱"They tried to bury us, but they didn't know we were seeds."🌲

From the first time I read this quote it resonated deeply with me. There is so much Hope in a seed. Some seeds take weeks, months and even YEARS to germinate. From the surface, it may appear that growth isn't happening. Having a mother whom I watched growing up, tend to her garden every season, and start her seeds far before the first warm day of the season, I know there is a great deal of trust, anticipation and planning in the process of germination. It takes patience, tending, dedication, attention and love.

I believe this is where we are in our Evolution. The storms are raging, tensions are high, division is strong, but beneath the surface, I trust that growth and germination IS happening. I see people rising up in a way that has never happened in our Democracy and World, from all walks of life. I see us having important conversations that I believe must be had in order for us to evolve, grow and heal. I see us working through and feeling deep rooted pain from lifetimes of trauma due to cultural erasure, slavery, sexism and more. But I also believe that "after thunder, comes the rain and after rain comes the pain and from that pain, a seed will grow, taller than the sky and stronger than you know."

Thank you for listening.

Sincerely with love,
The Captain
