Flashlight
04:00
|
|||
Now is not the time to hide or run away in fear
cuz we've learned from history exactly what's happening here
are we just going to sit back and watch it all unfold
pretend nothings happening and do what we're told
I know that I am privileged and I yes I am white
but that doesn't mean that can't stand up and fight
for my brothers and my sisters whatever shade they are
cuz underneath our skin we are all hiding up our scars
how do we break the cycle how do we break the chain
are the questions we keep asking again and again
you can say this is how it is that's how will always be
or we can rise together for the sake of humanity
cuz the earth she is screaming, screaming for a change
don't you see her bleeding don't you think it's strange
that it's summer in November, some say it's cuz were in hell
but I've seen heaven at my back door and this much I can tell
there is something bigger than you or me
than the color of our skin or making money
it's bigger than I hate and it's bigger than fear
and when we're gone it'll still be here
how do we break the cycle how do we break the chain
are the questions we keep asking again and again
you can say this is how it is that's how will always be
or we can rise together for the sake of humanity
so the choice is up to you can you rise above
can you stand up for those that are hurt can you show them love
cuz it's all a matter of perspective whatever you choose to see
it's just a reflection of yourself reflected off of me
and I've heard people say after dark there is light
let us help each other through the dark here, take my flashlight

Wake Up
04:33
|
|||
When I was a kid I thought the world was gonna end
and now as I get older, I'm feeling that again
cause every day I wake up to more bad news
and it's getting harder to make an excuse
for the way that we act, the way we are
is it too late now, have we gone too far
and when will we wake up
when will it be enough
can the damage be undone
or has the end just begun
when I was nineteen, i thought that I would change the world
and now it's getting harder to find that girl
she's lost somewhere far and in between
iPhones and climate change and police brutality
and when will we wake up
when will it be enough
can the damage be undone
or has the end just begun

say it like you mean it
say it like you mean it
say it like you mean it
and say it out loud
scream it like you feel it
scream it like you feel it
scream it like you feel it
and scream it out loud
speak your words to power
like you know what to say
speak your words to power
til you're not afraid
speak your words to power
like it's life or death
speak your words to power
til your last breath
sing it like you know it
sing it like you know it
sing it like you know it
like you know all the words
write it like you've been there baby
write it like you've been there
write it like you've been there
and you know how it hurts
speak your words to power
like you know what to say
speak your words to power
til you're not afraid
speak your words to power
like it's life or death
speak your words to power
til your last breath

Peace of Mind
05:00
|
|||
pour me another glass of wine
and tell me one more time
that it's all gonna be alright
that we're all gonna be just fine
cause lately i've been worried
about the state we're living in
and how it's all gonna go down
if this should come to an end
oh and i want a little peace of mind
yes i, want to do something good with my time
roll me another J
and tell me we're gonna be okay
cause there are wolves in sheeps clothing
trying to take our freedom away
and they are living in our TVs, in our phones and in our minds
and if we don't do something now, they'll be living our own lives
oh and i want a little peace of mind
yes i, want to do something good with my time

Love Someone
03:31
|
|||
there is so much good in this world
there is so much light
there is some much worth fighting for
fighting for whats right
there is so much love in this world
i feel it every day
though i know sometimes its hard to see
and sometimes its hard to say
but if you love someone, go tell someone
so that they'll someone, that they love
oh if you love someone, then go tell someone
so that they'll tell someone that they love
there is so much in this world that we choose not to see
but I believe if we open up our eyes
then someday we'll all be free
there is so much in this world
i know we need to change
but until we rise together, it's all gonna stay the same
so f you love someone, go tell someone
so that they'll someone, that they love
oh if you love someone, then go tell someone
so that they'll tell someone that they love
